Savannah, Georgia

Hardeeville RV Park

Tom & Kay, Lonnie & Becky, Roy & Ann, Don & Sharon

Our move Friday was only 50 miles so it was a pretty easy day.  We joined Boomers Don and Sharon Del Rosario, Roy and Ann Brody, Sam and Carolyn Kidd in Hardeeville, SC.  The temperatures were getting colder so we hosted the 4:00 Escapee Happy Hour in our RV.  After Happy Hour we all went to dinner at the Pink Pig for BBQ.  Sunday Tom and Kay Seliskar, also Escapee Boomers, joined us for another Happy Hour.  It seems the Escapees are migrating south to Florida from touring the East coast.
Christ Episcopal Church

It was 30 degrees last night so we bundled up Saturday morning and headed into Savannah just 15 miles away.  Thankfully it did reach 55 degrees but it still felt cold.  We parked at the Oglethorpe Trolley Tours and boarded the trolly for a 90 minute tour of Savannah.
The architectural details on some of the buildings were amazing.

Savannah is a mix of styles.  This was the Victorian district.

Savannah's version of Rainbow Row

Italian and Spanish influence

Beautiful iron railings

22 squares in the downtown area.  One for each neighborhood.

Another Church

Andrew Low House and the first Girl Scout National Headquarters

A little New Orleans in Savannah

The Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist.  After the tour we went back to see the inside of this cathedral but they were doing a wedding so we were not able to see the inside.

More homes on Lafayette Square

We're staying in Hardeeville until Tuesday.  We bought a 2 day pass on the Trolley so we will be going back on Monday for a closer look and perhaps get into the Cathedral.  Stay tuned for more of Savannah....
